DataCite Event Data service (prototype) retrieves and exposes the activity that occurs around research data objects. In particular, Event Data brings to light links between publications and data, citations, software, reuse, documentation, etc.

One of the most important features is the ability to search for all DOIs, no matter whether registered with DataCite, Crossref, or one of the other scholarly DOI registration agencies. Users want to search for content or look up metadata for a particular DOI, and not worry about where to look.

The site is based on the PID Graph technology developed in FREYA and provides visualisations of our results as well as additional information about content views and downloads of our outputs. DataCite is a leading global non-profit organisation that provides persistent identifiers (DOIs) for research data. Our goal is to help the research community locate, identify, and cite research data with confidence. DataCite gathers metadata for each DOI assigned to an object. The metadata is used for a large index of research data that can be queried directly to find data, obtain stats and explore connections. All the metadata is free to access and review. 2020-06-22 The DataCite GraphQL API support queries of the DataCite API using the GraphQL query language.
